#NE926 | Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large | Available for exclusive use About this photo: This is the garden leading to the music room at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. Right now it displays vibrant spring flowers draping from dramatic columns and set in a shallow pool. At times, this pool can boast fountains, trees and even a river of cranberries. About the processing: Well, I uploaded this photo about 10 times before I could get it to display the way I wanted on flickr. After each upload, I tweaked it a bit, so I am not sure if I will remember all the processing, lol. It still isn't exactly the way I think it should look, but it will do. First I created a DRI image. Then I used a series of high-contrast overlays, blurred overlays, and sharpened overlays to create the "enchanted" look. Selective softness always makes me feel like the photo is magical or mystical, and so I added a gentle Gaussian blur to parts of the photo. I also selectively sharpened parts (ie: individual flowers, the molding on the far wall, etc) so that the image still felt in focus. I added some extra contrast to the architectural elements to give them a more solid feel. I finished the photo with a very slight high-pass filter in some areas to clarify the image slightly. I don't usually process images this way, but sometimes its fun to step beyond the normal routines. (Sorry, no bokeh for HBW) © Copyright Arielle Kristina Explore #73 (18 March)
